Southern Sampler (2017-ongoing)
Images photographed by Justin Kelly. This series looks into my southern roots including sentimental locations close to home, my family farm, traditions, music, and heritage. It also features depictions of colorful southernisms. This is an ongoing series. Travel abroad informs similarities and differences creating a greater appreciation of home. **The three images depicting the three parts of Tennessee/styles of music have not been rephotographed, therefore, I added them at the bottom and put in the original versions. 2018 Spanish and Portuguese-Influenced Pattern Disks: Sacred Geometry and Patterngasm
These photos were taken and edited by Justin Kelly. This series is a continuation of travel-inspired 11" disks created after my return from Spain and Portugal (May 2018). Mosaics, door carvings and plaster works seen in mosques in Cordoba and the Alhambra Palace formed a love of sacred geometry. Portuguese buildings covered in repetitious hand-made tiles reinforced my obsession with pattern that was once kept to the background of story images. This series is still in progress.
